I Am the Leaves

I dance in the wind.
I have a cringing voice.
I swirl aound your body.
To give you a chill.
I am the rain.
I tap dance on your roof.
Calling to the heavens.
I am misty and loud .
You run inside when I come out.

Summer

Summer taste hot like cinnamon gum you just put in your mouth
Summer feels like a fire your Pa just made
Summer smells like your neibhorhood pool water
Summer sounds loud with laughter from little children playing
Summer looks bright and shiny like a silky yellow ribbon

Post-it Note from God

I am the light

I heal when you are sick

Some love me

Some not at all

Because I am the one and only god, I am the light.

I heal when you are sick.

Some love me.

Some not at all.

Because I am the one and only God.

A song with figurative launguage
"Stand, Rascal Flatts"

"You fell like a candle
in a hurricane
just like a picture
with a broken frame"

by:Taylor Ware
summer is when
you can go on a whim
to anywhere you like
by plane or by bike
picnics and watermelon
mean time in the sun
so summer must be
a time of fun

Bubbles
by Paula Jane Harrison

Bubbles
Some bubbles rise up to the sky
Some bubbles don't I don't know why
Easily popped by just one touch
Easily missed by way to much

Silent and round as we make it
Being forgotten bit by bit
Weaker and weaker as it grows
That is what happens, I suppose

Of all the ones that we condemn
We don't remember all of them
Even when we continue to grow
We still wonder where they go

A Book Is Like
by Kathy Leeuwenburg

A book is like an open flower, scented pages, fragrant hours.
A book is like a crafty fox, surprising in its clever plots.
A book is like a fairy's wings, with princesses, enchanted kings.
A book is like a windowsill, where breezy thoughts are never still.
A book is like an hour glass, whose pages flow as hours pass.
A book is like a lock and key that opens doors and sets minds free.
A book is like an ancient clock that speaks the times but never talks.
A book is like an open letter, when read again the friendship's better.
A book is like an apple core with seeds inside for growing more.
A book is like a trusted friend that keeps its secret to the end.

Every Season

Every evening sky, an invitation
To trace the patterned stars
And early in July, a celebration
For freedom that is ours
And I notice You
In children's games
In those who watch them from the shade
Every drop of sun is full of fun and wonder
You are summer

And even when the trees have just surrendered
To the harvest time
Forfeiting their leaves in late September
And sending us inside
Still I notice You when change begins
And I am braced for colder winds
I will offer thanks for what has been and what's to come
You are autumn

And everything in time and under heaven
Finally falls asleep
Wrapped in blankets white, all creation
Shivers underneath
And still I notice you
When branches crack
And in my breath on frosted glass
Even now in death, You open doors for life to enter
You are winter

And everything that's new has bravely surfaced
Teaching us to breathe
What was frozen through is newly purposed
Turning all things green
So it is with You
And how You make me new
With every season's change
And so it will be
As You are re-creating me
Summer, autumn, winter, spring
